MANCHESTER, N.H. –Republican U.S. Senate candidate and retired Brig. Gen. Donald Bolduc says the New Hampshire seat up for grabs next year “cannot be purchased and it’s not for sale.”
Bolduc, who announced his candidacy for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in June, on Saturday issued a statement in response to prospective candidate Corey Lewandowski’s comments to WMUR this week regarding a fundraising threshold for the candidates.
Lewandowski told WMUR in an interview that unless Bolduc and fellow candidate former New Hampshire House Speaker Bill O’Brien can show that they raised at least $2 million by the end of the third quarter, he believes they will not be viewed as credible candidates. He did not mention the third announced Republican candidate, Corky Messner.
