STRATHAM – When his medical service dog vest is off, Victor’s home life is just like any other canine member of the household; playing with his favorite tennis ball and chasing the cats around.
But when his service vest gets strapped on, the fun and games are over for Victor as he provides medical aid and comfort to his best friend, retired Army Gen. Don Bolduc.
Recently, Victor, a 4-year-old Black German shepherd, was awarded the 2020 Service Dog Hero of the Year honor by Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs for his dedicated service in helping Bolduc manage his post-traumatic stress disorder and other invisible wounds of war.
